Project Sand Castle
Newport Beach, California
Nestled along the sunlit coast of Newport Beach, Project Sand Castle is a custom-designed residence envisioned by a prominent architect and a leading interior design firm. The home embodies an airy, open, and expansive aesthetic—designed for seamless indoor-outdoor living and effortless entertaining.
For this project, I was commissioned to create a signature Wild Horse fine art piece to anchor the home’s custom art nook—a thoughtfully designed wall space that acts as both a visual focal point and a reflection of the homeowners’ love for nature and movement.
My process began on-site during construction, collaborating closely with the design team to capture the space through photos, detailed measurements, and architectural renderings. Using these visuals, I envisioned how the artwork’s composition, scale, and tonal balance would harmonize with the home’s light, textures, and palette.
The result is a bespoke Wild Horse artwork, professionally framed and sized perfectly to the niche’s dimensions. It brings a sense of freedom, power, and organic beauty to the refined coastal interior—bridging the untamed spirit of the wild with the calm sophistication of modern design.

When a boutique hotel owner in California reached out looking for artwork that would reflect the spirit of the West, Maureen curated a custom series featuring wild mustangs from the Salt River and Pryor Mountains. Through a hands-on consultation, she selected large-format prints with tailored framing that fit the space’s modern rustic aesthetic. The result was a gallery wall that not only elevated the hotel’s ambiance but gave guests a deeper, emotional connection to the region. Each piece included a backstory card, making the art feel personal, purposeful, and unforgettable.
